In March 2000, I attended a meeting for students of our university who thought about studying abroad. From the offered possibilities, I chose Summer Session at SUNY New Paltz, mostly because it was the only one in USA I could apply for.

I had three weeks to write my application, motivation letter, CV, do research on the chosen university, all of that while I was studying for a very importatnt exam. On Wednesday, April 26, on my way to the examination room, I found out that I was chosen for the exchange program and would be leaving for America in eight weeks.

The next two months were crazy - the school and the finals, all the paperwork connected with getting visas and arranging the travel plans, moving out of dorms. But on Wednesday, June 21, I arrived to New Paltz, making my dream come true.
